People may say you learn nothing from the internet.
Today in a seminar, I used the example of Obama having a Tumblr page as example of how the rise of new media has changed and shaped the way in which society, and the public sphere, works; with everyone able to communicate on a (theoretically) level playing field, and to communicate freely with such high names as Obama.
I left out the fact, however, that the vast majority of Tumblr users just want to troll him, or ask about his ships.
